All-On-X In Salt Lake City: A Fixed, Full-Arch Smile That Feels Like Your Own

All-On-X In Salt Lake City: A Fixed, Full-Arch Smile That Feels Like Your Own
BY Velux Dental

If most or all of your teeth are failing, All-on-X full-arch dental implants can replace an entire row of teeth with a lifelike, fixed bridge. Unlike traditional dentures, All-on-X doesn’t wobble, won’t cover your palate with bulky acrylic, and lets you bite with confidence again—often with a provisional bridge placed the same day your implants go in.

What “All-On-X” Really Means

“All-on-X” is a planning concept. It means we place the right number of implants for your bone and bite (often 4–6) and attach a fixed, full-arch bridge to them. The result: a streamlined treatment that maximizes support while minimizing grafting and downtime.

How It Compares To Other Options

  • Conventional Dentures: Affordable but removable; can slip, limit chewing, and accelerate bone loss.
  • Snap-In Overdentures: Removable dentures that “snap” to 2–4 implants for better stability but still come out at night.
  • All-On-X Fixed Bridge: Does not come out at home, delivers near-natural chewing power, and looks like a natural smile.

The Treatment Roadmap

  1. Consult & 3D Scan: We evaluate bone, bite, smile line, and medical history.
  2. Smile Design: Tooth shape, shade, and lip support are planned digitally.
  3. Surgery Day: Implants are placed with precision guidance; in many cases, you leave with a fixed provisional the same day.
  4. Healing & Check-Ins: Implants integrate with bone over a few months.
  5. Final Bridge: After healing, we deliver your definitive bridge for long-term beauty and durability.

Are You A Candidate? (Quick Checklist)

  • Multiple failing or missing teeth in one or both arches
  • Stable health or medical conditions well managed
  • Willingness to follow a soft-food plan during early healing
  • Non-smoker or committed to quitting around the time of surgery
  • Realistic goals about esthetics and maintenance

Materials & Aesthetics

Provisional bridges are typically high-quality acrylic or composite reinforced for strength. Final bridges may be zirconia, hybrid titanium + acrylic, or other advanced ceramics. We’ll discuss pros and cons around weight, chip resistance, sound (tapping feel), and future repairability.

What Eating, Speaking, And Smiling Feel Like

Most patients report an immediate boost in confidence. You’ll follow a soft-foods plan at first, then transition as your implants integrate. Speaking adapts quickly, and the absence of a palate plate (upper) makes flavors and temperature more enjoyable—coffee actually tastes like coffee again.

The First Week: What To Expect

  • Days 1–2: Swelling peaks; cool compress, soft foods, and medication as directed.
  • Days 3–5: Discomfort fades; gentle saltwater rinses support healing.
  • Day 7+: Most patients return to routine activities with mindful food choices.

Maintenance That Protects Your Investment

  • Brush twice daily with a soft brush (manual + electric).
  • Use a water flosser and specialty threaders to clean under the bridge.
  • Schedule professional cleanings and exams—maintenance is crucial for implant health.
  • Consider a nightguard if you clench.
  • Avoid opening packages with your teeth—bridges are strong but not indestructible.

Common Questions—Quick Answers

Will I be without teeth? In most cases, no—you’ll leave surgery with a fixed temporary bridge.
How long does the final bridge last? With good care and maintenance, many years; we’ll review realistic lifespan and warranty details.
What if I’ve been told I don’t have enough bone? All-on-X uses angled implants and strategic positioning; when needed, we plan grafting to set you up for success.
Can I choose my tooth shade and shape? Absolutely—this is your smile. We use photos and try-ins for collaboration.

Your Next Step

If you’re ready to eat comfortably, speak clearly, and smile without worry, All-on-X may be your fastest path back to a confident life.
